PURI/BHUBANESWAR: With able Dr Krishan Kumar at the helm of affairs of Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration at pilgrimage city of Puri in Odisha, the SJTA is missing no stone unturned to accord a rousing welcome to President Ramnath Kovind, who is visiting the State on March 21-22. The President is expected to visit Puri and Konark on March 22.
SJTA Chief Administrator and State’s Works Secretary, Dr Kumar flanked by Puri Collector Samartha Verma and SP Kanwar Vishal Singh held a detailed discussion on President’s visit. President is visiting Odisha to inaugurate the SAIL-RSP-run Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela and to attend a function of NIT-Rourkela.
“Today, a special meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Administrator, SJTA @drkrishan2002 for discussion on preparations to be made for the ensuing visit of His Excellency President of India to Shree Jagannatha Temple on 22/03/2021.Meeting was attended by the officials of SJTA, along with Collector, Puri & SP, Puri,” Shree Jagannatha Temple Office, Puri tweeted @SJTA_Puri.
Earlier on Tuesday, Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had called on President Ram Nath Kovind to extend a formal invitation to him for his forthcoming visit to Odisha.
President is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Odisha on the 21st and 22nd March during which he will attend several programs and also inaugurate the RSP-run Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela. The President is expected to visit Puri and Konark.
Meanwhile, DGP Abhay reviewed the security arrangements through video conference.During his two-day visit, the President will attend the convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Rourkela on March 21. He will also inaugurate a super speciality hospital on the premises of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) at the Steel City the same day. He will visit the Konark Temple and Puri Srimandir the next day.
The DGP made a thorough review of security arrangements at all visit locations in Rourkela, Puri, airports of Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda and the Raj Bhawan here. He emphasised on strict access control, anti-sabotage check and thorough security arrangements in adherence to all COVID-19 protocols.
On the occasion, concerned district SPs apprised the DGP about arrangements being made to ensure full proof security during the President’s visit. Additional DGP (Law and Order), Intelligence Director, Twin City Police Commissioner, Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau, Rourkela IGP WR, DIGP Central Range, Cuttack and SPs of Rourkela, Puri, Jharsuguda and DCP Bhubaneswar attended the meeting, among others.
