SJTA Chief Administrator Urges Devotees to follow SOP while visiting Shree Mandir

PURI/BHUBANESWAR: While expressing his pleasure in view of the public darshan of Lord Jagannatha inside the 12th century old shrine in pilgrimage city of Puri, the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration Chief Administrator Dr Krishan Kumar on Monday urged devotees to strictly follow the SOP while visiting Shree Mandir to offer prayer to Mahaprabhu.

SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Kumar after reviewing the arrangements inside the Temple, said since past few days, more than 50,000 people of Puri paid visit to the Temple while SJTA made arrangements for 20,000 to 30,000 devotees from today onwards, Dr Kumar added.

As per the SOP, all devotees were being allowed entry for darshan from 7 AM to 7 PM on all days, when the temple is open for darshan of the Lords. The temple will remain closed for public darshan on all Saturdays & Sundays as a measure to contain the spread of Coronavirus disease and to sanitize the temple premises, Dr Kumar added.

Dr Kumar also said that devotees were seen happy after paying visit to Shree Mandir after 4 months. Dr  Kumar also appealed all devotees, sevayats and officials to follow the SOP. On Temple doors renovation, Dr Kumar said, works going on.

Sources said, Queue system opened from 7 AM for the devotees, who were making entry through the barricades opposite to the Shoe stand, situated on the North-East side of the temple complex.

All devotees visiting the temple were producing the final certificate for Covid-19 vaccination (of having taken two Doses) or Covid-19 negative certificate (RTPCR) of testing done within 96 hours prior to their visit to the Temple. All devotees will be required to bring their photo ID card, namely, Aadhaar/Voter ID etc and enter through Singhadwar. After the darshan, the devotees exiting through Uttaradwar. The police have deployed 10 platoons of force, 1 additional SP and 20 officers to regulate the crowd in and around the temple.
