BARBIL/KOIRA/DHENKANAL: Jharkhand’s Chaibasa Headquarters’ Rungta Mines Ltd Group and its subsidiary, Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd, led by India’s one of the top Mines Magnates, Steel, Pellets, TMT Bar, sponge Iron makers, Siddharth Rungta, which has an impressive presence in mineral and coal bearing Odisha, earned admirations and praise for its CSR works, where it runs mines and plants in districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal in the State.
It may be noted here that Rungta Mines Ltd and Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd have been featuring among the top 10 Companies spending towards CSR in Odisha. The Company owns 5 mines blocks and runs plants in Odisha’s Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Sundargarh, besides, actively participating in the on-going commercial coal block auction, winning 2 blocks so far.
Karakhendra Steel Plant in Barbil in Keonjhar, Jharbandh Steel plant in Dhenkanal , Ferro Alloy Division at Meramandali in Dhenkanal, Karakolha Sponge Iron Plant in Keonjhar, Kamanda Steel Plant located at Bonai in Sundargarh in Odisha , has been playing key role in State’s economic growth and sustainable development. CSR works in these above mentioned locations has been outstanding and praiseworthy, sources in Steel and Mines Department said. Industry Department officials in Odisha, have also lauded company’s expansion works , which has been seeing early commissioning.
Months back, the company had announced the commissioning of its newly- established plant in Dhenkanal in Odisha. The state-of-the-art facility, spread across acres will process Rungta Mines’ flagship product- steel TMT bars. The commissioning of this plant marks a significant milestone for Rungta Steel, as it will increase the company’s capacity to produce high-quality steel TMT bars to cater to its key markets in Chattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. This will allow the company to meet the growing demand for quality steel in the expanding domestic Indian market.
Rungta Mines Ltd Group’s CSR policy is guided by the principles of sustainability, inclusivity and social responsibility. The company has undertaken several initiatives in the past including providing healthcare facilities, sustainability drives, building educational institutions, and supporting local communities thereby enhancing the lives of the people of Odisha and as well as in Jharkhand.
As per reports, RML and RSPL have constructed boundary wall around a football ground located under Ward –No-7 in Barbil in Keonjhar.
The construction of Kalyan Mandap at Karmanda village has become a great support for people who earlier could not afford to arrange space for social gatherings, functions, ceremonies, events and others. The company has constructed a Kalyan Mandap at the heart of the Kamanda village, which is now serving to the financially weaker section of the society.
Community infrastructure development is a major initiative taken by the company over the past decades for improving quality of life of people of this region. The company has developed a Community Halls in Barbil, Playgrounds and other community infrastructure like a modest bus stand in Sundergarh in Odisha, Student Accommodation in Bhadrasahi, providing a space for social gatherings and events. The initiative taken in the arena has helped to uplift underprivileged communities and created asset for the locality.
Rungta Mines Ltd ensure healthy life through host of initiatives like provision of ambulance, free treatment at dispensary, organizing regular health camps, supporting and facilitating Govt. run health programs, providing financial assistance to poor for medical treatment and checkups.
The company plays a great role in promoting education and sanitation for the communities. The company has constructed boundary wall, toilet block and bathrooms at Kalta High School which is the only high school in the tribal-dominated Kalta Gram panchayat in Sundargarh district of Odisha.
Similarly, construction of two classrooms with verandah at Karakhendra Aganwadi Center is providing support around 45 children who come here regularly. This centre provides different services like supplementary nutrition, basic healthcare and pre-school etc.
Rungta Mines Ltd. has been providing regular support for organizing sports events at regional, national and international level. An elaborate blue print has been executed for promotion of sports through development of play ground with boundary wall around it, supply of sports material and other facilities to the communities & society at large.
In Dhenkanal, where it runs plants , the company also spent impressive amount on CSR works and locals have been supporting the company, sources added.
