PURI/BHUBANESWAR: Like every year, this year too, Jindal Steel and Power CSR wing Jindal Foundation, serving devotees with free cooked meals, cold drinking water and providing toilet facilities during the annual World famous Rath Yatra of Shree Lord Jagannath in Odisha’s pilgrimage city of Puri.
With JSP Chairman and BJP MP Mr Naveen Jindal and his entire family including wife Philanthropist , Chairperson, JSP Foundation, Mrs Shallu Jindal, are ardent devotees of Shree Lord Jagannath, JSP Foundation led by Mr. Prashant Hota, President & Group Head – CSR & Education, Odisha Head Corporate Communications, is missing no stone unturned to reach out to maximum numbers of devotees with cooked meals.
Sources said, the service began on Nabajauban Darshan day on Thursday while near about 5 lakhs devotees were served till Friday evening.
Dr Sambit Patra, BJP’s Member of Parliament from Puri visited the stall where served cooked meals to devotees. He thanked his Party’s Lok Sabha colleague MP Mr Naveen Jindal for his noble gesture since last 11 years. MP Dr Patra also lauded efforts of Jindal Steel and Power and JSP Foundation for their noble work during Rath Yatra.
‘We at Jindal Foundation have been standing beside the devotees, serving freshly cooked meals, safe drinking water and energy-boosting refreshments, ensuring faith is nourished with care.Together, we remain committed to Caring Beyond Bounds, making every spiritual step safer, healthier and more fulfilling for all,” JSP Foundation said.
Mr. Prashant Hota, President & Group Head – CSR & Education, Odisha Head Corporate Communications informed that food counters are running at Puri Railway station and Main Bus stand ( Gundicha Temple ) with two large counters of Jindal Foundation serving Hot Cooked meals and it will continue for 12 days.
“ We are targeting to serve 15 lakh meals till Suna Besa ( Rice Dalma khata ) and 3 Chilled Drinking water vans have been stationed with 10,000 ORS packets, rain coats for Volunteers, 70 bio toilets are available for devotees,” Mr Hota added.
