BHUBANESWAR: Odisha CCT and GST Commissioner Sushil Kumar Lohani on Thursday reviewed a meeting here to achieve the target in tax collection. Sources said SGST collection reached Rs. 726.29 Crore in December 2019 against Rs. 572.38 Crore in December 2018.
CGST collection of Rs. 529.78 Crore in December ‘19 against Rs. 443.58 Crore in December ’18, sources said. Till December ’2019, Odisha has collected Rs. 6387.47Crore of State GST against Rs. 4955.90Crore collected during the corresponding period of previous year with growth rate of 28.89%.
Similarly, Rs. 4767.94 Crore of Central GST has been collected during the said period against Rs. 3715.33 Cr collected during the corresponding period of previous year with growth rate of 28.33%.The total GST collection (CGST, IGST, SGST & Cess) from April-December ’2019 shows a growth rateof 10.89% with collection of Rs. 21750.24 Crore against Rs. 19613.71 Crore collected during April-December ‘2018.
GST Commissionerate has also issued instructions to its field units to take a special drive against non-filers and wrong return filers. As a result, 25928 notices have been issued against the dealers not filing returns.6091 notices have been issued against dealers filing wrong returns.
Commissionerate of Commercial Tax and GST, through data analytics, is identifying fake invoice issuers for exemplary enforcement action. 5 masterminds of rackets running fake dealer network with the intention of passing fake input tax credits have been arrested and action has been initiated against recipients of such fake invoices.
