BHUBANESWAR: Sex hungry Police SI, Rakesh Samal, who posted at Capital Police station in Bhubaneswar, has been held by the Commissionerate Police for allegedly betrayed a young woman after having physical relationship with her on pretext to marry her.
Based on a complaint of the young girl, a case was registered against Rakesh at the Mahila Police Station under section 376 (2) (n), 313, 506 and 420 of IPC.A team of the Mahila Police Station, Bhubaneswar held Sub Inspector, Rakesh Samal from Rorukela on basis of a complaint filed by the young woman.
The young woman, who came in contact with Rakesh through social media, lodged the complaint when Rakesh refused to marry her even though he had a sexual relationship with her for considerable period. Rakesh even forced her to undergo an abortion. Apart from this, the SI duped her of Rs 5 lakh with the promise to get her a vehicle.
Earlier, SI Samal was placed under suspension by Additional Police Commissioner Anup Sahu on direction of CP Sudhanshu Sarangi for cheating a woman and threatening her with life.
Sources said the woman is a highly educated and hails from Kendrapara district. She works in a private company in the state capital. She came in contact with Rakesh on social media in August 2019. The lady has alleged that Rakesh befriended and established physical relationship with her. They were sharing a rented house here. He also promised to marry, but later evaded the suggestion.
In her complaint, the woman had earlier alleged that Rakesh tried to kill her when she told him in January 2020 that she is carrying his baby. She alleged that Rakesh thrashed her black and blue and threatened with a pistol to kill her if she does not abort the child. Rakesh forced her to take pills for aborting the child, she alleged.
