Several BJP leaders arrested on way to Sambalpur , Tension on Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Border

Sambalpur’s Thelkuli Police have arrested several BJP leaders including State President Manmohan Samal and Union Minister Bishweshwar Tudu, Sundargarh MP Jual Oram, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Kalahandi MP Basant Panda, MLAs Nauri Nayak, Kusum Tete, Sankar Oram, ex Minister KV Singh Deo and ex-President Samir Mohanty.

SAMBALPUR/JHARSUGUDA/BHUBANESWAR:  Sambalpur’s Thelkuli Police have arrested several BJP leaders including State President Manmohan Samal and Union Minister Bishweshwar Tudu, Sundargarh MP Jual Oram, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Kalahandi MP Basant Panda, MLAs Nauri Nayak, Kusum Tete, Sankar Oram, ex Minister KV Singh Deo and ex-President Samir Mohanty.

The arrest made after Odisha unit of BJP leaders were heading towards Sambalpur to review the situation in the aftermath of violence during the Hanuman Jayanti motorcycle rally on April 12.

They were stopped by the district police near Sripura Chhak on Sambalpur-Jharsuguda border. Later, they were taken to the Thelkuli police station for detention and later arrested.

The BJP team was to meet those who were injured in the group clash and hold discussion with the officials of the district administration.
