Set Back to Outlawed Maoists as after a Decade, Odisha’s Swabhiman Anchal Celebrates ‘Festival of Democracy’

Villagers of Jodamba, Panasput, Andarapali, Jantri, Ralegarh and Gajalmamudi village in the Swabhiman Anchal were seen casting their votes to elect candidates for 2 Zilla Parishad (ZP), 18 Sarpanch and 200 Ward Member positions, sources added.

Since people of this Maoist-affected region were casting their votes in the rural polls after nearly 10 years, heavy deployment of security forces which include SOG, DVF, and BSF had been made for the conduct of free and fair polls.
