BHUBANESWAR: Jogeswar Naik, an Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer , and former deputy commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been detained after Odia album actress Priyanka Dash accused Naik of outraging her modesty. Lingaraj police have registered a case and launched a probe.
.The 29-year-old woman, Priyanka Dash, is a resident of Shreeram Nagar of Old Town area under Lingaraj police limits here and runs a salon and spa in the city. Acting on an FIR lodged by the woman, police have detained Naik in this connection for quizzing.
A senior official of Lingaraj police station said, Naik allegedly asked for undue favour from the complainant by promising her to cast in an Odia album in September 2020. After the young woman opposed his advances and misbehaviour, the accused hurled abuses and mentally harassed her. On the other hand, the accused bureaucrat refuted the allegations levelled against him.
