BHUBANESWAR: Senior BJD leader Rabindra Nath Chottray was on Sunday chosen as the President of Party’s Bhubaneswar Central Assembly segment held by Anata Narayan Jena (Bunu), who also elected as Bhubaneswar Zilla President.
Chottray , a close associate of late Biju Patnaik, has been active in non-Congress politics since past 4 decades and held various Party positions earlier. He worked in various districts like Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Keonjhar, Puri and several other areas for the Party, the erstwhile Janata Dal and now Biju Janata Dal.
With Anata Narayan Jena sitting MLA with Bhubaneswar President, sources said, outgoing President Amaresh Jena (Baian) will now eye on Mayor post and the Bhubaneswar Central President Rabi Chottray also have to work hard for BJD’s success in upcoming Municipal polls.
“I have been working since last 40 years and closely worked with late Biju Babu and since past 21 years, I have been working heartily for Party. “I thanked the Party President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Party’s State Returning Officer and Aul MLA Pratap Keshari Deb and Bhubaneswar Central MLA Anata Narayan Jena for bestowing faith on me,” said Chottray.
Besides, Rabi Chottary for Bhubaneswar Central, BJD also named its President for Bhubaneswar-North to Suryakanta Jena and Bhubaneswar-Ekamra to Rajendra Samartha.
