CUTTACK/NEW DELHI: The State Election Commission (SEC) held an all-party meeting on Thursday to discussed regarding voter list revision and direct elections for the posts of Chairperson and Mayor.
SEC is all set to hold the municipal elections in at least 110 urban local bodies (ULBs), including the Municipal Corporations of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Brahmapur.
The 110 ULBs include 48 Municipalities and 59 Notified Area Councils (NACs).
SEC Aditya Prasad Padhi underlined the need for error-free ward-wise electoral roll for conducting the polls. Filing of affidavits by the candidates is mandatory.
Padhi said the final list of voters would be prepared by February 24 and the SEC would acknowledge the final voter list by February 28.
