BHUBANESWAR: A day after high drama at Old post office lane under ward no. 43 under Laxmisagar PS area on Monday evening, BJP Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi on Tuesday written a letter to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in conncetion with the issue.
The BJP MP and National Spokesperson, Sarangi in her letter to CM Patnaik mentioned that “With deep anguish, I am to convey to you that I was detained in ward no. 43 (Laxmisagar-Old post office lane) by a handful of miscreants for two hours(120 Minutes) in the evening hours,”.
The BJP MP argued that “It is pertinent to mention here that I work very hard for the welfare of the people of Bhubaneswar Parliamentary Constituency. I try to establish connect with as many residents as possible and for that matter, I am required to hold small meetings in different parts of the Constituency. I had gone to ward no.43 on invitation of residents to hold a meeting when some miscreants/ anti-social elements stopped my car and prevented me from proceeding to the meeting spot. I sat in the car waiting for the police to control the situation for 2 hours,” .
“I must mention here that I had been moving in my Constituency since 7AM and was almost without food. Besides, more than 200 people were waiting in my office for public grievances during the time I was detained. This speaks of malicious intent on part of the State Government. Two hours of my time was wasted and there was complete disruption in my office because of hooliganism,” the MP said.
“Most respectfully, I beg to ask you as to how does the State Government compensate for my lost time. Most humbly, I hereby ask whether Hon’ble CM’s carcade can be stopped even for 5 minutes? I think everybody’s time is equally valuable. I will expect an answer to my query above and I am deeply disturbed because of the indifference of the State Government towards ensuring my security,” MP wrote.
