BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: Sushree Devi High located at Kalikapur under Rajkanika block of Kendrapara district has hit headlines after RTI activists and local villagers alleged about a massive scam in School Transformation funds provided under 5T schemes.
The school is being run in the name of State’s Industry, Energy and MSME Minister Pratap Keshari Deb’s mother and former MLA Sushree Devi. Locals alleged that around Rs 50 Lakhs have been siphoned off from out of the funds, came under School Transformation initiative of the State Government.
‘ଶକ୍ତି ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପ୍ରତାପ ଦେବ ଙ୍କ ମା ସୁଶ୍ରୀ ଦେବିଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ହୋଇଥିବା ସ୍କୁଲରେ 5ଟି ଯୋଜନାରେ ପ୍ରାୟ 50ଲକ୍ଷ ଲୁଟ 15 ଦିନ ହେଲାଣି ତଦନ୍ତ ଦାବି କରି ଛାତ୍ର ଛାତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ଧାରଣା ପ୍ରଶାସନ ଠାରୁ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ପ୍ରତାପ ଦେବ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପିସି ଖାଇ ଚୁପ. ଏହି ଦୁର୍ନୀତି ଉପରେ ଉଚ୍ଚ ସ୍ତରୀୟ ତଦନ୍ତ ଦାବି କରି ହଡ଼ପ କାରୀଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧ ରେ ଦୃଢ଼ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ଦାବି କରି ପ୍ରେସ ମିଟ ଓ ବିକ୍ଷୋଭରେ ସାମିଲ ହେଲା କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡା ଜିଲ୍ଲା ସୂଚନା ଅଧିକାର ଅଭିଯାନର ପ୍ରତାପ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ମହାନ୍ତି. ‘ ଆଗକୁ ଲଢେଇ ଜୋରଦାର ହେବ ଯେ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଲୁଟେରା ମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ନ ହୋଇଛି, RTO activists Pratap Mohanty said.
Demanding appointment of more teachers, students and their parents had recently locked Sushree Devi High School. The school is being reportedly run by only two teachers, against the sanctioned strength of six, since January, 2022. At least 110 students from Class VI to X are enrolled in the school, media report said.
The agitating parents and locals further alleged that the school has no proper toilet facility due to which students, especially girls, are facing a lot of problems. Girl students are forced to use the open space as the two dirty toilets have no water connection. The authorities should immediately fill up the vacant teacher posts and build proper toilets in the school, they demanded.
