BHAWANIPATNA: It is said that health is wealth. In today’s time, the better the health, the luckier the person. In Kesinga block of Kalahandi district, there are a total of 13 panchayats with a population of nearly one and a half lakh, most of them rely on Kesinga for treatment. But unfortunately, the hospital in Kesinga neither has good specialist doctors nor related facilities for the patients.

That is why Kesinga has acquired the title of Medical Referral Center. Specialist doctors coming from outside are the only hope for the residents of the area. The fees of specialist doctors coming from outside are also high and due to the fixed time table, the poor people do not go to the said doctor unless it is very urgent. Keeping these problems in mind, SBI and Ramki Foundation on Thursday started a mobile van named Sanjeevani at Bapuji Higher Primary School in Kikia village of Kesinga block of Kalahandi district.

The said mobile health van will reach the inaccessible areas of Kesinga block and provide quality health services to the people. Along with specialist doctors, pharmacists will get modern labs and medicines. The residents of the area will get all kinds of health service facilities, which are free of cost.

The said mobile health service will cover many blocks of Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur districts in Kalahandi district as well as in other districts, the officials of the organization said. Today, SBI Foundation has launched four mobile vans for four districts for this purpose. It is to be noted here that there are a total of 803 districts in India, out of which SBI has provided this service to 112 districts.

Out of those 112 districts, Kalahandi district is the name of the district, so the Sanjeevani service has been started in the district. Today’s program was attended by SBI Foundation Chief Operating Officer Jagannath Sahu and Ramki Foundation President MV Rami Reddy as the chief guests, while DPM Dilip Kumar Dubey, Kikia Sarpanch Kishore Kumar Pradhan, School President Keshav Chandra Barik, Senior Journalist Suresh Agarwal and School Principal Bipin Bihari Padhan were present. Students of the school, a large number of villagers and project coordinators of Ramki Foundation of four districts along with other employees associated with the project were present.
