Save Animals from crackers, urges PFA

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chapter of People for Animal on Thursday urged general public to be extra sensitive while bursting crackers keeping the animals in mind.

 “We have also written to police to keep eye on this and action will be taken against those who torturing any animals by throwing crackers intentionally. Volunteers of People for Animals with an Ambulance will remain alert and move different parts of the Capital City on the eve of Diwali to rescue animals that will be injured by crackers and accidents. Animals are very sensitive to sound. On the evening of DIWALI when we all enjoying the occasion by colourful light and sound the innocent animals running here and there to protect themselves from high decibel sounds around them, he said.

Some inhuman nature people also intentionally throwing crackers to specially dogs to enjoy their pain and suffering. By that the dogs running here and there and also face accident by bike and car which is very much dangerous for both the life of animal and man. We have seen many instances on the eve of Diwali thousand of birds, dogs and other animals die out of fear of shock & accidents. On the eve of DIWALI a message from People for Animals – Enjoy the Diwali with all colourful lights not sounds which puts the animal life in danger.

People who intentionally throwing crackers to torture any animal law will be enforced against them. As per the section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 beats, kicks, over-rides, over-drives, over-loads, tortures or otherwise treats any animal so as to subject it to unnecessary pain or suffering or causes, or being the owner permits, any animal to be so treated is a violation the section which lead to fine and imprisonment or with both.

Section 429 of Indian Penal Code  also prohibits such act which leads to threat to animal life and violation of such section lead to both fine and imprisonment. Article 51-A(g) states that duty of every Citizen of India to have compassion for all living creatures. So throwing crackers can caused accident which is a serious threat not only for the animals but also for the human. So keep away from such type of inhuman acts and make the Diwali happy for all living creatures, Das added.
