BHUBANESWAR:The Iron Man and great freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the main architect of the formation of a great nation by merging the states ruled by 516 kings into India. His contribution to the country is unforgettable. In order to be inspired by his principles and ideals and to awaken the sense of unity, patriotism and civic duty among the youth, the Central Government has decided to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel from October 31 to December 6. BJP Vice President Golak Mohapatra said that all BJP workers will cooperate in this.
Shri Mohapatra said that it has been decided to organize the program in 3 phases. The first phase will run from October 31 to November 25. On this occasion, a “Sardar @150 Ekta Padayatra” will be organized for 3 days in every parliamentary constituency. Starting from schools, colleges, youth, youth institutions, social organizations, spiritual organizations, the general public will participate in this padayatra.
The padayatra will cover 8 to 10 kilometers every day. On this occasion, programs such as health awareness camps, Swachh Bharat and Ek Ped Ma’ki Naam will be organized at various places along with cultural programs. A Swadeshi fair will be organized to promote Ek Bharat Srestha Bharat, “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”. Stalls will be set up to sell Swadeshi products, and a pledge will be taken for a drug-free India. Similarly, programs will be organized at about 63 places in the state.
The party will create awareness and organize various competitions so that maximum number of people participate in the program. Similarly, the second phase will be held from November 26 to December 6. On this occasion, 5 contestants from each district who participated in various competitions will be selected and 150 people from 30 districts will be sent by bus to Karamsad, the birthplace of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat. In the third phase, a 150-km walk will be held from Karamsad to the huge statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Kevadia. The program will conclude there, said Shri Mohapatra.
A workshop was organized in this regard at the state office. State President Manmohan Samal, Minister Suryavansi Suraj, MP from Madhya Pradesh Kavita Patidar, State General Secretary Dr. Yatin Mohanty, State Yuva Morcha President Abhilash Panda and other party workers participated in it.
