BHUBANESWAR: BJP on Wednesday came down heavily on BJD leader VK Pandian following his allegations against Election Commission of India.
Senior BJP leader Samir Mohanty levelled serious allegations against IPS officer DS Kutey, who has been put under suspension on the charge of interfering in the conduct of the elections by ECI, and IPS officer Ashish Singh who has been on medical leave since May 4.
ECI has asked IPS officer Asish Singh, presently working as IG (CM security), to be present himself for detailed examination by a special medical board constituted by Director AIIMS Bhubaneswar, not later than May 30, 2024
VK Pandian ‘kicking’ the leg of CM Naveen with his feet is unfortunate, said BJP leader Samir Mohanty . “CM Naveen Patnaik is not a rubber doll who could be manhandled every now and then. He is the Chief Minister of 4.5 crore people of Odisha; it is saddening to see such behaviour towards the CM,” said Mohanty.
By making such remarks, BJD leader VK Pandian has questioned the impartiality of Election Commission of India, said BJP leader Bhartruhari Mahtab while welcoming the ECI order for suspension of Special Secretary to Odisha Chief Minister’s Office DS Kutey and medical examination of Ashish Kumar Singh, IG (CM Security), who has been on medical leave since May 4, 2024
On ECI’s action against officers in Odisha CMO, BJD leader VK Pandian says “It is very unfortunate that the Election Commission has taken action against some of the officers who are working in the CMO. I would say that those two officers are outstanding officers of Odisha and both of them have played a great role in controlling Naxalism in Odisha risking their lives. I think they have been awarded by the highest authorities in the country for their commitment, dedication and sacrifice. This is very unfortunate and it is as per the design of BJP which cannot digest imminent defeat in the hands of BJD and it cannot stand against the popularity of Naveen Babu and his sway over the people of Odisha.”
