SAMBALPUR:Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan today attended the grand “Sambalpuri Dhanu Yatra-2026” festival organized in Sambalpur. On this occasion, he praised the local folk culture and emphasized on the cleanliness of the city.
Shri Pradhan said that Sambalpuri Dhanu Yatra is not just a stage play, but it is a living symbol of the victory of religion over evil and justice over injustice. This festival organized at the holy site of Maa Samlei is a unique tradition of reviving our rich traditions and mythological values. The identity of this great pilgrimage based on Krishnaleela and folk culture is inextricably linked with the history of this land. While Dhanu Yatra is being celebrated in various places like the world famous Dhidhalshasti here, its organization in Matru Bhabha Sambalpuri reflects the people’s civilization and culture in the true sense. He expressed his gratitude to all the members of the ‘Sambalpuri Dhanu Yatra Committee’ for organizing this grand event.
Joining the ceremony, the Union Minister emphasized on cleanliness and said that on the call of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ is going on all over the country. In this regard, Sambalpur Municipality has taken the responsibility for cleanliness, but only administrative efforts are not enough. The full participation of the public is essential in this. Keeping in mind the “Which City is How Beautiful” competition to be organized in the coming days, the city residents should be vigilant from now on. He called on the public to make Sambalpur a clean and beautiful city.
