BHUBANESWAR: Saheednagar PS Case No- 230, Dt 13.05.2025, U/S 137(2) BNS.On Dt 13.5.2025 at about 6.00 P.M Complainant Garita Singh (26), W/o-Rakesh Kumar Mallik, At-Nandagiri, PS – G Udayagiri, Dist – Kandhamala, A/Pr-Qtr No-2RAF 43/2, Unit-09, Bhoi Nagar, PS – Saheednagar, Dist – Khurdha reported at Saheed Nagar P.S regarding kidnapping of her 04 years old minor son from her residence when he was playing at the outside courtyard. One Sonu Nayak who was known to her has kidnapped the child in between 9.30 A.M to 10.00 A.M.
Name and address of the accused: Sonu Nayak @ AbhisekDigal (25), S/o-Netaji Digal, At-Lamonjia, PS-Raikia, Dist – Kandhamala.

Investigation disclosed that, due to conjugal dispute with her husband the Complt was staying at Banglore with her minor sons and came in contact with the accused During her stay at Banglore. After 09 months stay at Banglore the Complt resolved the issue with her husband and two months back came to BBSR and staying with her husband. On 12.05.2025, the accused came to her residence and on the next day i.e 13.05.2025 in between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, the accused kidnapped her younger son (4 years old), who was playing outside the house with his elder brother Rehan Mallik (8 years old).
The Complt contacted him but found his mobile switched off. During the course of events, the accused met his younger brother, Abhaya Digal, at IDBI Chowk and falsely claimed that the kidnapped child was his own son. Abhaya, unaware of the truth and assuming the child to be his nephew (as the accused had been estranged from the family for 15 years), took them to his rented accommodation at Tarini Nagar, Saliasahi. The minor boy was later rescued, and the accused was apprehended.
