Russian Deaths in Indian State of Odisha goes up to 3: Chief Engineer of a Ship found dead in Paradip Port

PARADIP/BHUBANESWAR:   The 51 year old Sergey Milyakov , who was the chief engineer of a ship, which was on its way to Mumbai from Chittagong Port in Bangladesh via Paradip, found dead in Indian State of Odisha. The body was found on a ship at the anchorage of the port in Paradip.

Senior police officials of Odisha , said the cause of death can be known after post-mortem. “Primary probe revealed that he collapsed while being onboard the ship. His visceral samples and body will be preserved after autopsy,” they said adding the reason of the death can be ascertained after investigation.

The incident came at a time when deaths of 2 Russian Nationals in Odisha, hitting international headlines after the mysterious death of Pavel Antov, who was found dead after allegedly falling from the third floor window of the hotel on December 24.

 Antov’s death took place two days post his 62-year-old friend Vladimir Videnov’s demise, who was also staying in the same room and died after falling ill.

Rabindra Mishra, a Berhampur-based human rights activist, had filed a petition with the NHRC in this regard while NHRC has issued a notice to the Rayagada SP in connection with the death of Russian Lawmaker Pavel Antov at a hotel in the district.
