BHUBANESWAR: Further updates on trap of Sri Santanu Kumar Mallik, BEO (Block Education Officer) Hindol,Dhenkanal.
Following the trap, Cash Rs 11,10,370/- recovered during search at his Bhadrak residence & Rs 82,000/- from his Hindol residence(total cash Rs 11.92 lakh). Searches continuing.
Earlier, on Tuesday morning , BEO Mallik was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.10,000/- from a Complainant (Teacher) for release of his arrear salary pending on official ground.
The entire bribe money of Rs.10,000/- has been recovered and seized from exclusive possession of accused Sri Mallik. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sri Mallik from DA angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S Case No 06 dt.10.4.23 U/s- 7PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Mallik. Detailed report follows.
