LONDON/NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR:World environment day was celebrated by ‘High Five Social Innovations’ (HFSI) and ROOTS OF ODISHA FOUNDATION with an online International Panel discussion. Leading lights spoke on varied subjects relating to the issues of environment and health.
Initiating the virtual brainstorming deliberation Chairman of ROOTS OF ODISHA FOUNDATION, Sudhir Kumar Dash, CA, explained the motto of the ‘High Five Social Innovations’ and outlined that protection of environment and promotion of good health as the prime objectives of the flagship programme. Special Guest on the occasion Professor of IGNOU Dr. Sadananda Sahoo said that the Covid 19 crisis had been a great lesson which needed to be reflected through environmental angle. Director General of Indian Institute of Sustainable Development Dr Srikant Panigrahi, in his keynote address stressed on paying attention to environmental crisis, more in the interest of inhabitants than the planet. Dr. Panigrahi pleaded for the urgent restoration of ecosystem and resetting of Human’s relationship with nature.
Managing Director of Pristine Water and the inventor of Anti Pollutant machines and equipments, Mr. Ravichandran pointed that innovation is the key to addressing environmental issues. Director of Venkateswara Hospital, Delhi, Dr. Bikram Kesharee Mohanty observed that the management of stress and tension is the only available answer before the human race to overcome the current mental challenges created by covid. Renowned Clinical Psychologist Parul Singh, threw light on the several ways available before the mankind to tackle and win over the negative emotions. Proprietor of Sparsh Hospital Dr. Vishal Kapoor appealed to all conscious and concerned citizens to serve as environmentalists and take care of the earth in the manner that suits each one of us. Focusing on the psychological aspects of environmental issues, Former Mrs UK India, Parveen Rani, Passionately appealed not to get panic and upset for the Pandemic and remain strong and contented to defeat the Virus.
Renowned singers Sujit Kumar and Kailash Baishnab enthralled the audiences with their scintillating musical numbers.
