BHUBANESWAR/BHADRAK/BALASORE: The fresh 7 cases of COVID-19 positive from Bhadrak and Balasore was on Monday put the entire Naveen Patnaik led Government in hurry with authorities started sealing the areas under Bhandariphokari and Basudevpur blocks of Bhadrak, where 5 caess reported while similar steps have been taken at Balasore where fresh 2 cases were reported, officials said. With fresh 7 cases, Odisha tally COVID-19 positive reached at 68.
Following the Ministry of Home Affairs directive, Odisha has relaxed certain restrictions but with fresh 7 cases, mandarins manning the Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar were in hurry, sources added. Sources said Bhadrak district administration declared five Gram Panchayats (GPs) as containment zones after five persons tested positive for COVID-19.The restrictions have been imposed in 5 Panchayats under Basudevpur and Bhandaripokhari blocks.
A total of 17 places in Kharida Binayakpur GP, Melak Sahi in Padampur GP and Matpaka in Laxmidaspur GP under Basudevpur Block and 24 revenue villages in Rahania and Tesinga GPs under Bhandaripokhari Block will be under containment.As many as seven cases were detected today. Out of 7 cases, 5 were detected from Bhadrak district.
While three positive cases have been detected from Basudevpur block and two from Bhandaripokhari block, informed Information & Public Relation Department .Earlier, the district authorities had declared three places Puruna Bazar, Charampa and Erein as containment zones.Later, the containment restrictions were lifted in two phases following recovery of all three COVID-19 patients.
