CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Rajkanika Police Station Case No. 54 dated 21.02.2026. The case has been registered at Rajkanika Police Station, Kendrapara district, involving the sexual assault of a minor girl student.

– Sections: U/s 65(2), 70(2), 60, 49, 351(2), 351(3), 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) r/w Sections 4 & 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

**Brief Facts of the Case**

On 21 February 2026 at around 1:50 PM, the complainant (mother of the victim) appeared at Rajkanika Police Station and lodged a written complaint. She stated that on 14 January 2026, her 12-year-old minor daughter was found crying inconsolably at home. Upon being gently asked the reason, the child disclosed that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted (raped) by teachers of Oxford English Medium School, Olaver.

The child was threatened with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

Immediate Police Action

– The moment the complaint was received and the case registered, police teams swung into action.

– All five accused persons were apprehended within a very short time on the same day (21.02.2026).

– The arrested accused are:

  1. Chandan Kumar Prusty (37), Teacher
  2. Biswa Ranjan Sahoo (31), Teacher
  3. Rashmi Kanta Biswal (47), Teacher
  4. Minati Bai (34), Teacher
  5. Rashmi Ranjan Rana (32), Peon

Investigation Measures Underway

– A forensic team has been immediately requisitioned and has been directed to visit the spot/school premises without delay.

– The victim child is being sent for immediate medical examination and collection of evidence as per protocol.

– The statement of the victim is being recorded under Section 180 BNSS  by a senior woman police officer in a child-friendly environment.

– The victim’s statement will also be recorded before a Judicial Magistrate under Section 183 BNSS at the earliest.

– Necessary steps are being taken for psychological counselling and support for the victim child under the guidance of competent authorities.

Supervision & Monitoring-

– Deputy Superintendent of Police,IUCAW,Kendrapara, has been specially assigned to take direct charge of the investigation.

– The case is being personally supervised by the Superintendent of Police, Kendrapara.

– The matter has been taken up under the Swift Trial Initiative (STI) to ensure expeditious investigation and trial.
