BHUBANESWAR:Today i.e on 16.03.2026, a short while ago, Sri Rajani Kanta Kar, Jr. Clerk-cum-Accountant, O/o Block Education Officer, Barpali, Dist. Bargarh has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance *while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.6,000/- from an official of the said office for preparation of bill for drawl of his arrear salary*.
Despite several requests made by the official, Accountant Sri Kar was not taking steps for drawl of his arrear salary. Instead, Sri Kar demanded bribe Rs.6,000/- from him for drawl of arrear salary. Being aggrieved over the matter, he reported the matter to vigilance authorities. Following this, today, a team of Odisha Vigilance nabbed Sri Kar while taking bribe Rs.6,000/- from the official. *The entire tainted bribe money Rs.6,000/- has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Kar and seized*.
