BHUBANESWAR:This decision has been taken keeping in mind the urgent report of the Additional Chief Engineer and the Senior Supervisor of the temple and the safety of the devotees.

As per the advice and approval of the Management Committee, a few days ago, senior officials of the temple administration, led by the Chief Administrator of the temple, and later, senior staff members and officers of the Management Committee, inspected the Srigundicha Temple. Subsequently, it will be reopened from December 1st.
It was considered to open the temple for worshippers and devotees. However, the Additional Chief Engineer has reported that more time is required for the repair and conservation work of the Srigundicha temple. He has also stated that there is a proposal to install steel beams inside the temple and the work of laying khandolite stones is pending.
Similarly, the Senior Supervisor has reported that the gardens of the Srigundicha temple premises need to be cleaned and improved for the safety of devotees. Considering this, the Chief Administrator of the temple has ordered to postpone the decision to open the Srigundicha temple until further orders.
