BHUBANESWAR: Prof. Kulamani Parida, eminent researcher and Director of Centre for Nano Science and Nano Technology run by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here, has been honored with the C.N.R. Rao Lecture Award at the 35th Annual General Meeting of the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) and 6th Indian Materials Conclave which concluded at Indore recently.
The award, the flagship accolade of MRSI, was presented to Prof. Parida in recognition of his significant contributions in the field of materials science.
The prestigious event was jointly hosted by UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research (CSR), IIT Indore, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore from December 3 to 6.
Prof. Parida, who was listed among the top 2 per cent scientists of the world by Stanford University in 2024, had earlier received several awards including the Acharya J.C. Ghosh Memorial Award, MRSI Annual Prize, Prof. S.K. Bhattacharya Endowment Eminent Scientist Award, MRSI Medal and Pathani Samanta Award by Odisha government.
Prof. Parida’s work focuses on innovative materials for clean energy applications such as photocatalysis, energy conversion and storage and green chemistry.
