NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: A day after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik claiming that he had not received any letter of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in connection with the Presidential polls due in July this year, AITC Parliamentary Party leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay met the BJD Supremo, who is now National Capital.
The meeting between TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Chief Minister Patnaik has left BJP’s central leadership in dilemma.
Sudip Bandyopadhyay is one the trusted lieutenants of Chief Minister Mamata Banejee and now Leader of Parliamentary Party AITC, Lok Sabha and Chairman of Standing Committee on Food Consumer affairs & Public Distribution System.
“I met Odisha CM @Naveen_Odisha in the Central Hall of Parliament and exchanged pleasantries, also congratulated Sri Patnaik for being the longest serving CM of Odisha. Patnaik Ji also asked about the well being of the our CM @MamataOfficial,” Sudip Bandyopadhyay tweeted @SudipBAITC
“There is still time for the Presidential elections and so no thoughts on that for the moment,” Odisha Chief Minister Patnaik, who is currently on a three-day visit to New Delhi, Tuesday had said.
The Presidential election is due in July, this year. Referring to West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee’s letter to Opposition leaders and CMs of non-BJP ruled states for the formation of an anti-BJP Opposition front, Patnaik said he has not received the letter yet.
“We stand for development and welfare of our state. That’s what our party stands for,” he had added. Chief Minister Patnaik also met BJD MPs at the party’s parliamentary office.
