BHUBANESWAR: If everything goes well, BJD Organisational general secretary and MLA Pranab Prakash Das alias Babby is all set to become Odisha Cricket Association’s new President. Babby Das will represent Jajpur Cricket Association in OCA. Babby Das’s name figured in 73 members’ voter list
The outgoing President and Industrialist, Pankaj Mohanty will be the new Vice-President while Secretary Sanjay Behera is all set to continue in the post.
A meeting of OCA top brasses in Puri held in this regard ahead of the elections to various posts. With this, the OCA’s new power hub will be vested with VP Pankaj Mohanty and Secretary Sanjay Behera with new President Babby Das at the helm of affairs. Sources said, Ashirbad Behera among 42 members attended the Puri meet.
In 2019 polls, Industrialist Pankaj Lochan Mohanty and Sanjay Behera were elected as President and Secretary of OCA respectively.
The Odisha Cricket Association is all set to go to polls on October 28. The polling will be held to the posts of president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and member of the apex council of OCA.
As per the notification issued by the Electoral Officer of OCA, the filing of nomination will be held on October 21, between 10.30 am and 5 pm at the OCA conference hall.
Similarly, filing of objection will be held on October 22 between 10 am and 12 pm while the scrutiny or disposal of objection will be carried out on the same day between 1 pm and 6 pm.
Candidates can withdraw their nomination on October 23 from 10 am to 1 pm and the valid list of candidates will be declared on the same day, the notification stated.
The election for five office bearers and one councillor will be held on October 28, and the results will be declared on the same day after the completion of vote counting.
