Practising Hindu Kamiya Jani’s Arabian Attire with Burkha on Head hits Social Media hours after clarification on Shree Lord Jagannath Temple visit

Hours after the clarification aired by YouTuber Kamiya Jani regarding her recent visit to 12th Century old Shree Lord Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri in eastern India, a video clip of Jani, has once again hit social media and this time, relating to her Arabian Attire with Burkha on Head.

BHUBANESWAR:  Hours after the clarification aired by YouTuber Kamiya Jani regarding her recent visit to 12th Century old Shree Lord Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri in eastern India,  a video clip of Jani, has once again hit social media and this time, relating to her  Arabian Attire with Burkha on Head.

In this video, Jani was seen wearing an Arabian dress with Burkha on head. The video clips bears the tag line of ‘Transitioned in a Burkha in Saudi Arabia’.

Video has received both positive and negative comments while some questioned her claim as a practising Hindu.  Senior Jouranlist, Saswat Panigrahi while sharing such a video clip , laughed at the claims of Jani as she is a practising Hindu.

BJP has been alleging that the Naveen Patnaik led Government in Odisha, in a bid to promote its Shree Mandir Parikrama Project in Puri, do unnecessary publicity and ensured the entry of a “beef consumption promoter”. The influencer issued a clarification saying that she is a practicing Hindu and has never “eaten or promoted beef”. The clarification vedio clips has been extensively shared by BJD leaders in Odisha on Sunday morning.

“My intention behind going to Jagannath was to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath and present information about the temple’s infrastructure. I am a practicing Hindu. I have never eaten beef, and don’t promote it ever,” Jani said in a video message.

“Considering the recent controversy, it is important that I put out real facts and the truth. This one incident, in no way, will shake my pride in my country and its rich culture. I am and will always be a proud Indian,” she said.

Jani clarified that the photos were from a video shot in Kerala where she visited a restaurant started by two truck drivers which has become famous for its beef dish.

“Screenshots of one such video of mine, which was shot in Kerala, are being used. The story was about two truck drivers who started an outlet in Kerala and their beef dish has become a hit. Since I do not eat beef, I had veg black chana curry, rice appam and banana fritters,” Ms Jani said.

The controversy broke out after Jani posted a video highlighting Shree Jagannath’s culture. The video also featured bureaucrat-turned-BJD leader VK Pandian speaking on the importance of ‘Mahaprasad’, the ongoing heritage corridor project and other aspects linked to temple development.

“There are various other videos I have made about local cuisines, but that does not mean I eat it all. I hope this clarification reaches the people who were hurt by the misunderstanding,” she added. Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Giriraj Singh and others had strongly reacted over this issue while Shree Jagannath Temple Administration , had also issued a clarification denying allegations of Opposition BJP and Congress leaders on Jani’s visit to Shree Mandir.
