BALASORE/BHUBANESWAR: Dr Satyajit Naik Deputy Inspector General of Police of Eastern Police Range in Balasore in Odisha on Monday informed that enhanced Coastal Security Measures have been implemented in the Range due to political unrest in Bangladesh.
The DIG ER Dr Naik said all possible steps have been taken to avoid infiltration through water routes from Bangladesh side and security men posted in costal pockets have been working in close coordination with Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guarad personnel.
DIG Dr Naik personally visited Marine police stations of Balasore range like Kasafal, Bahabalpur, Dhamra etc and reviewed the security measures which aim to strengthen coastal security, prevent suspicious activities, and maintain communal harmony in the region.
The measures include:
– Increased patrols and intelligence collection
– Collaboration with coastal security stakeholders
– Deployment of Sagar Mitras and police officers at fishing harbors
– Verification of crew members and tenants
– Regular checks on hotels, lodgings, and shelters
– Enhanced security at vital installations
– Patrolling bus stands and railway stations
– Verification of new constructions and industrial installations
– Searches of religious places
– Discouraging unauthorized boat landings
– Peace meetings and joint patrols with fishery and forest departments
– Arming officers on patrolling duty
