BHUBANESWAR: The Police Constable Association Secretary Prasanna Behera will face tough time over his alleged business links with South City Hotel, where senior Journalists Nabin Das’s son Manish Anurag and others held party before the murder case.
According to reports, Manish had visited Hotel South City at Patrapada area with his friend Amrit, Dinesh and Mrutyunjay on the fateful night. They consumed liquor together at a bar. The four had altercation over tough payment of bill amounting to Rs 35,000.
On allegations of a police official in operation of a bar at the hotel, DCP Umashankar Dash said that an official in rank of Additional DCP has been assigned to submit a report following probe. A video clip that surfaced on the internet showed lavish parties being held in the bar. Youngsters were seen dancing to loud music in the bar while female dancers were seen entertaining the customers. The bar has all the trappings of a Dance Bar as some customers were also seen showering wads of cash on the dancers.
In the video clip shot in August, Prasanna Behera, secretary of police constable association, was also seen dancing. He is said to be running the bar on lease. Notably, the body of Manish was recovered under mysterious circumstances from a pond at Patrapada on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Sunday (October 10) hours after his family allegedly received a ransom call from unidentified persons on Saturday night.
