BHUBANESWAR: The Police Commissionerate Bhubaneswar-Cuttack proudly announces the successful completion of its 8-week Summer Cyber Security Internship Program, held from May 27, 2024, to July 30, 2024. The program selected 10 outstanding computer science students from prestigious colleges within the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack UPD region, offering them an unparalleled opportunity to delve into the intricacies of cybersecurity under the mentorship of seasoned professionals and experts.

During the program, the interns engaged in real-world projects and received training on expert topics such as Information Security, AI & ML, Network Security, Application Security, Ethical Hacking, Cryptography, Cyber Laws, Incident Response, Digital Forensics, and Cyber-Attack. This comprehensive curriculum was designed to equip them with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in cybersecurity.
Unique Functional Projects:
- BHAIRAVA OSINT : This application will be providing a single portal / window for detection activity in policing such as to detect the IP Address LookUp, Email Investigation, Privileged Access Control, Data Leak LookUp and more functionalities to be add on future development.
- Complaints Database Management : This application will help us to provide a single portal solution such as – Public Online Complaint Registration, Public Case Status Tracker, Chat Bot Assistant, Admin Window for Policing, Suspicious Inquiry System, Cyber Police Station Helpdesk Interface.
- Social Media Surveillance & Deepfake Analysis: This application will help in policing to do perform a surveillance on social media host – twitter, Facebook, Instagram with the unique techniques developed such as Passive Surveillance, Targeted Surveillance, Deep Fake Monitoring, Reverse Image Link Search.
- Phishing URL Detector: This application is developed in ML by training the models with the real-time data set which will assist in policing to detect the PHISING URL – source, registration id or number, IP, and many more required / necessary information.

Also, they learned how to report and did many reporting in CHAKSHU Portal (www.sancharsaathi.gov.in), NCII org, Pawned site, retrieved passwords of victims from different social media accounts, helped in detection of cyber cases etc. Upon the successful completion of the internship, each intern is awarded a Completion of Internship Certificate, showcasing their dedication and expertise in cybersecurity. Additionally, they received a Certificate of Appreciation for their successful case reports and were provided with a stipend, generously supported by ICICI Bank.
Benefits of the Program for Interns were Skill Development, Career Advancement, Industry Insight and Confidence Building, while for Police Commissionerate it was Enhanced Cybersecurity Skills, Innovative Solutions, Community Engagement, Research & Development and Data Analysis & creating an Incident Report system.

The program was supervised by ACP Ms. Anjana Tudu, ensuring the interns had a structured and enriching experience. Representatives from ICICI Bank played a significant role in sponsoring and supporting the program, highlighting the collaboration between the corporate and law enforcement sectors.
The Police Commissionerate Bhubaneswar-Cuttack is committed to fostering talent and enhancing the cybersecurity capabilities of the region. This internship program stands as a testament to our dedication to creating a secure and technologically advanced society.
CP Shri Sanjeeb Panda and DCP Shri Prateek Singh, senior Officials of Police Commissionerate graced the occasion, along with Mr Amiya Nayak, Regional Head, ICICI Bank. DCP Prateek Singh made a special mention to continue more such internship program for betterment of community and Shri. Sanjeeb Panda, IPS emphasized on the education of cyber awareness and reporting of cyber crime, Investment Fraud and Digital Arrest on CHAKSHU Portal. Stating “Lets Start Reporting, Not Ignoring” and saving the society. The Media personnel hold hands and learned on how to report on Chakshu Portal enthusiastically.
