NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan aka Muku and BJP National VP-Spokesperson and 4th times Former MP, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda have jointly welcomed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s soup of Rs 10,337.15 crore to Odisha as part of PMGKY.
Union Minister Pradhan also said it will give relief to millions of poor and ensure that no one in Odisha goes hungry. Pradhan however said that PM Modi has been giving top most priorities to eastern region.
“I welcomed this move and hope it will help lakhs of poor and downtrodden in Odisha,” senior BJP Leader Panda said. The former MP Panda said the package will help Odisha to deal with disruptions from the Covid-19 outbreak.
“Inclusive measures announced, will lessen the economic impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on the rural and urban poor, farmers, health workers, migrant workers, divyangs, senior citizens and other vulnerable sections of the society in Odisha,” he further added.
In last week of March this year, Finance Minister Nirmana Sitharaman had announced a relief package worth Rs 1.70 lakh crore to help the nation’s poor tackle the financial difficulties arising from Covid-19 outbreak as part of PMGKY. Under the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojna (PMGKY) which is a part of the relief package, at least 80 crore poor people will be covered.
