NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, have expressed grief over the loss of lives in an accident at Koraput in Odisha.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “My thoughts are with all those who have lost their dear ones in the tragic accident at Koraput, Odisha. I hope those injured recover at the earliest.”
“Saddened to learn about the loss of lives in an accident in Koraput district, Odisha. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Vice President of India tweeted @VPSecretariat.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives in the road accident near #Kotpad in Koraput district. My condolences are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Pray for the speedy recovery of all the injured,” Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tweeted@Naveen_Odisha.
“Saddened to learn of the unfortunate accident resulting in deaths and injuries in Koraput. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. Prayers for speedy recovery of the injured.Om Shanti,” BJP National VP Baijayant Jay Panda tweeted @PandaJay.
Sources said at least 9 persons were killed when a pick-up van in which they were travelling overturned near Sindhi Gaon in Kotpad block of Koraput district. This apart, 15 persons were critically injured in the road mishap.
Hailing from Kulta village under Nagarnar police limits in Chhattisgarh, occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were returning from Kotpad after attending 10th day ritual of one of their relatives who died recently.
