NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and West Bengal on Friday. He will chair review meetings in the two states to assess the impact of cyclone Yaas. Prime Minister will also undertake an aerial survey of the areas affected by the cyclone in two states.
Reviewing post #CycloneYaas reconstruction and restoration work, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who earlier in the day, made an aerial survey, directed officials to assess and report on house damage in affected districts within seven days. CM said all the focus now should be on relief, reconstruction and restoration.
Chief Minister Patnaik advised that all repair and restoration work should be continued on war-footing. CM also directed to normalise supply of drinking water and electricity at the earliest and hoped that by today night, all major roads would be free from obstruction for traffic movement.
Patnaik asked administration to be vigilant citing the possibility of flooding in lower reaches of the Baitarani River. CM added #Odisha has once again proved to be very successful and effective in managing natural disasters with the help of people. #OdishaFightsYaas
CM lauded the state administration for effectively managing #CycloneYaas and said that it was successfully managed due to meticulous planning & flawless management. CM thanked people, civil society organisations of the affected districts for their cooperation.
