PM Modi built 1,826 KM Railway Lines in Odisha in last 10 years, which is more than the entire Railway network of Sri Lanka, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hits back at BJD

BHUBANESWAR:    Reacting to Naveen Patnaik led BJD’s allegations that a not a single km railway line built in Odisha in the last 6 years, Union Railways , Communications and Electronics & IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday rejected such allegations.

‘BJD says “No new railway line built in the last 6 years”. Truth: PM Narendra Modi Ji has built 1,826 km railway lines in Odisha in the last 10 years.  This is more than the entire railway network of Sri Lanka, the Union Railways Minister said in a X post.

BJD is an election advertisement issued in various newspapers dated on May 30, alleged that Railways getting around Rs 20,000 crore annually from Odisha  while new rail line built in last 6 years, it said. BJD alleged that Railways has stopped Train stoppages at 300 small stations.

BJD says poor telecom connectivity, the Union Minister cited the truth and said  in 2014, there were  Towers 7,562 in Odisha while in 2024, it is 3.74 times more and presently, Towers in Odisha is 28,274 .
