BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: After Prime Minister Narendra Modi was stuck on a Punjab highway for 20 minutes because of protesters in a massive security breach on Wednesday, President Ramnath Kovind has expressed concern, say government sources.
PM Modi met with the President on the incident, which has snowballed into a huge political row ahead of polls in Punjab and other states. PM Modi gave the President “a first-hand account of the security breach”, a Rashtrapati Bhawan statement said
The Union Home Ministry has taken strong note of security breach during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on Wednesday. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) taking cognisance of this serious security lapse has sought a detailed report from the state government. The State Government has also been asked to fix responsibility for this lapse and take strict action.
