PM condoles loss of lives due a road accident in Jharsuguda in Odisha

    NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to a road accident in Jharsuguda, Odisha.

    The Prime Minister’s office tweeted;”The accident in Odisha’s Jharsuguda is saddening. My thoughts are with the families of those who have lost their lives in the accident. I pray that those injured recover at the earliest: PM”

    Sources said, as many as 8 workers of JSW Bhusan Power and Steel Ltd were killed while more than 24 workers were injured after a Hyva truck collided with a bus in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Friday.

    The deceased were identified as Pankaj Jha Brijpal Singh Rajendra Tiwari, Sher Bahadur, Vikash Kumar, Dhan Kumar Ray and Suraj Thakur. All the deceased were from outside Odisha.

    The workers were returning in the bus to Jharsuguda from JSW’s plant. The accident took place on the Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Biju Expressway near Action Ispat Square Nikhil Dhaba.

    CDMO Dolamani Patel said that about 18 persons have been discharged after first-aid at DHH OPD and the death toll may rise. “Mourn the sad demise of eight people in yesterday’s ghastly road accident. I have no words to express the sorrow,’ Jharsuguda Collector tweeted.
