Paradip Port sets record

PARADIP/BHUBANESWAR:Paradip Port is one among India’s twelve Major Ports . The month of May 2016 saw Paradip Port breaking its own records in handling of commodities. Following are the major achievements of Paradip Port in the month of May, 2016:

A record quantity of 137,270 tonnes of Naptha (POL Product) was loaded during May’16 surpassing the previous record of 70,429 tonnes during Apr’16 .

A record quantity of 2,003,112 tonnes of POL was unloaded during the month of May’16 surpassing the previous record of 1,985,039 tonnes during the month of April’16.

A record quantity of 41,891 tonnes of H.R.Coils was loaded during the month of May’16 surpassing the previous record of 29,407 tonnes during Apr’16.

A record quantity 11 tankers have been handled at SPM during the month of May’16 surpassing the previous record of 9 tankers during April’16.

A record quantity of 40,750 MT of Thermal Coal was loaded to vessel M.V PAOLA BOTTIGLIER in one shift on 09.05.16 surpassing the previous record of 32,601 MT loaded on 03.10.05 to vessel M.V RANI PADMINI.

A record quantity of 84,656 MT of Thermal Coal was loaded to a Panamax Vessel i.e M.V PAOLA BOTTIGLIER on 09.05.2016 surpassing the previous record of 82,550 MT loaded on 08.08.2013 to vessel MV INDUS FORTUNE.

A record quantity of 84,656 MT of Thermal Coal was loaded to a Panamax vessel i.e M.V PAOLA BOTTIGLIER with a minimum loading time of 18hrs. 15 min. on 09.05.2016 surpassing the previous record of 62,976 MT loaded in 20 hrs on 07.09.2006 to Vessel MV.APJ SRIDEVI.

A record gross productivity of 4233 TPH (Tonnes Per Hour) was achieved in MV M.V PAOLA BOTTIGLIER on 09.05.2016 surpassing the previous record of 2743 TPH achieved on 07.03.2016 in Vessel MV APJ MAHAKALI.
