PARADIP/BHUBANESWAR:Today, Paradip is not just a port city, but has emerged as a major ‘economic laboratory’ of India, said Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan while attending the auspicious inauguration ceremony of IFFCO’s “Third Sulphuric Acid Plant” in Paradip on Friday.
In the presence of the Honorable Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah and the Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, he said that today a new chapter has begun in the industrial sector of Odisha. The third sulphuric acid plant, inaugurated at a cost of about Rs. 750 crore, has a daily production capacity of 2,000 metric tons. With this plant, sulphuric acid required for the production of phosphoric acid will no longer have to be imported from abroad, which will strengthen the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign. Due to the reduction in the cost of fertilizer production, crores of farmers of the country, including Odisha, will be able to get fertilizers at the right time and at low prices.
The vision of “Purrooday” that the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had when he dedicated the Paradip Refinery to the nation in February 2016 is becoming a reality today. He made it clear that the development of the entire India is impossible without the development of Eastern India. He has taken many important responsibilities for the development of Odisha and Paradip in the last 10 years. Special mention and provision of grants have been made in the Union Budget for the development of Paradip. Large institutions like Indian Oil, IFFCO and PPL have formed the backbone of economic growth in Paradip. He expressed the hope that this prosperity of Paradip will make Odisha a major hub of the country’s economy.
Referring to the visionary mantra of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, “Cooperation is prosperity”, Shri Pradhan said that due to this transformation in the cooperative sector, today even a poor person gets the opportunity to dream big and become a crorepati. Finally, Shri Pradhan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chief Minister for this visionary initiative. Odisha Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Shri Sampada Chandra Swain, Jagatsinghpur MP Shri Bibhu Prasad Tarai, MLA Shri Amarendra Das were prominently present on the occasion.
