BHUBANESWAR: It was perhaps on many occasions, the most powerful bureaucrat in Naveen Patnaik’s BJD Government in Odisha, V Karthikeyan Pandian ventured into field visits but since he took the baton of CMO as Personal Secretary to Chief Minister, later elevated to Secretary to CM along with Secretary 5T, a newly created wing to monitor the State Government’s ‘Mo Sarkar’ scheme, the Tamil Nadu born Odisha cadre IAS officer never paid a field visit and confined himself with CMO and Naveen Niwas, CM’s official residence.
Sources on Wednesday revealed that Pandian long with Principal Secretary Finance Ashol Kumar Meena and Mission Director Shalini Pandit are visiting Koraput, Malkangir and Nabarangpur districts in Odisha’s poverty stricken KBK region to get a first hand report on health services. Pandian will review health services, infrastructure, basis amenities at various District and Block level Hospitals and Health Centres.
No serving bureaucrat in the Odisha has ever occupied so much political space as V Karthikeyan Pandian, a 2000 batch IAS officer and private secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik since 2011.
