PARADIP/BHUBANESWAR: Previously, Dhinkia village under Erasama Tehsil of Jagatsinghpur district has been rumored to be anti-industrial. However, as per the latest developments, the situation has changed dramatically.
The fraternity and peace have returned to the village with the help of local leaders and local youth. Now they stand in the favor of the proposed project.
Recently, the district magistrate and the superintendent of police visited the village at the request of Dhinkia residents. The authorities here urged the denizens to maintain brotherhood and peace in the village.
On the other hand, a five-member judicial committee paid their visit to Dhinkia to look into the allegations of local anti-industrial activists directed by the High Court. Members of the High Court Committee held peace talks with the villagers and held hearings on both sides.
However, sadly, anti-industrial leader Devendra Swain in association with some married women tried their force to create conflict against the committee and the people.
Despite the resistance from the Dhinkia villagers, anti-industrial Manas Kar and his group tried to sabotaged the committee discussion.
These self-vested interest people hassled and created violence for which police has to be involved to control the situation. As a result of violence, many were faced injuries and they were rushed to the nearest hospital.
In meantime, members of the High Court’s committee gathered information from the Dhinkia people regarding the situation. The High Court will hear the details of this committee on the February 23, 2022.
Now the Dhinkia villagers alleged that the outsiders have created chaos in the village and tried to sabotage the brotherhood and peace here in Dhinkia.
Villagers like Nirbhaya Samantray, Devdatta Swain, Akshay Behera, Akshay Das, Nityananda Swain, Vivekananda Swain, Nrusingha Raut, Prashant Lenka, Niwas Kandi, Kabindra Gochhayata, Dhaneshwar Das, Hrudananda Raut, Nirbhaya Das and Sishir Sethy claimed that some so-called social workers from outside the region are plotting such a heinous act at the behest of some of the state’s agitating leaders.
They also stated that the village has maintained a favorable atmosphere in the area for the establishment of the plant.
