BHUBANESWAR: The NSS Bureau of Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR) organized a successful one-day “Voluntary Blood Donation Camp” on October 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the university campus. The camp was held in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society and HDFC bank and took place at the APJ Boys’ Hostel on the OUTR campus.
The camp was inaugurated by the registrar of the university Smt Renu Prabha Nayak, Dean Research department Sri Prof. Sribatsa Behera , NSS program coordinator Prof Sabita Dash. Prof. Rosalin Dalai, Program Officer, Unit-2, Prof. Twinkle Kisku, Program Officer, Unit – 3, Prof. Jitendra Naik, Program Officer, Unit – 5, Prof. Sabita Dash, Program Coordinator, NSS Bureau were also present in the camp.
The event, organized by Units 2, 3, and 5 of the NSS Bureau at OUTR, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, who came forward to donate blood and support this noble cause. Volunteers from NSS and the organizing units played a key role in coordinating the camp, assisting with the setup, and ensuring a smooth and safe donation process. Participants received certificates of appreciation, and academic attendance was provided for donors and active volunteers.
All the Heads of Schools, and Heads of Departments extended their support by promoting the event among students, creating a widespread impact. Thanks to their efforts, a remarkable total of 253 units of blood were collected, making a significant contribution to the local blood banks and hospitals.
