BHUBANESWAR:Our government is committed to the empowerment of OBCs and the weaver community, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan while participating in the centenary celebrations of the Devang Sangh and other programs in Bengaluru today.

Shri Pradhan said that the Devang community is the custodian of India’s textile industry. By following the sacred tradition of Devang Maharshi, this community has enriched the country’s economy and culture for centuries. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Government has given constitutional status to the ‘OBC Commission’ and given the right to the backward classes to live with dignity. Financial assistance is being provided to the weavers through the ‘Bunakar Mudra Yojana’ and the ‘National Handloom Development Programme’. The mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ is very important to build a ‘Developed India’ by 2047. He expressed the hope that the hard work and dedication of the Devang community will play a major role in making India a leading economy of the world.

Before joining the event, a comprehensive discussion was held with Dr. D.K. Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director, Shri Pradhan Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). He appreciated HAL’s role in India’s defence manufacturing sector. He said that HAL is continuously working towards indigenous design, high quality manufacturing and self-reliance in technology.

He also met the Space Field team, which is creating new horizons in the field of aerospace and defense technology. He said, the youth of Odisha are strengthening India’s startup revolution and making a significant contribution to the progress of the country. The talent, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit among our youth will make India a global power in the field of ‘deep-tech’.
