BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: “Simultaneous house searches of Sri Biranchi Narayan Sahoo, Pvt Secretary to Member, Odisha Staff Selection Commission, Bhubaneswar are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance today i.e on 30.7.2021 at 6 places in BBSR and Cuttack. 3 teams comprising 4 DSPs ,13 Inspectors and other staff conducting search on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets.2 double storeyed buildings, 9 plots unearthed so far. Over Rs 25 lakh cash recovered from house of Shri Sahoo and his brother-in-law. Further search continues,” Odisha Vigilance tweeted @OdishaVigilance.
However, the exact amount of disproportionate assets that the senior staff has possessed will be ascertained after completion of the raids. Vigilance sources said huge amount of cash, gold jewellery, documents pertaining insurance and investments in shares and bonds have been recovered from Biranchi’s residence. Of the cash seized, Rs 13 lakh was recovered from the house of Biranchi’s brother-in-law.
