BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: The Vigilance police on Friday arrested and forwarded to court Rabi Narayana Prusty, Chief Engineer, Environmental, of the Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OPSCB), Bhubaneswar on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.The anti-graft agency had conducted simultaneous searches on the properties of Prusty on Thursday.
During the searches, a flat at Patia in Bhubaneswar, a flat worth Rs 1 crore at Shreekhestra Bhakta Niwas in Puri, a flat at Grand Awas worth 60 lakh at Fulnakhara, a shop at Barabhuja Market Complex at Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar, three plots in prime localities of Bhubaneswar and nearby areas worth crores, bank, insurance and bond deposits worth Rs.89.46 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 355 grams and silver ornaments weighing 692 grams, a four-wheeler and three two- wheelers were unearthed.
Further, it is suspected that investments have been made by Prusty outside the State in real estate, including benami properties, which are under verification.
