BHUBANESWAR/SAMBALPUR: OSAP 3rd Battalion (Koraput) Jawan Raj Kishore Bhoi arrested for Duping and Raping a married woman, police said on Saturday.
According to sources, Bhoi had forcefully developed a physical relationship with the woman about two years ago. He repeatedly raped the woman on the pretext of marriage.
In March last year, he had physically molested the victim in the Saheed Nagar area. Subsequently, he was arrested following a complaint by the woman. Later, on release from jail, Bhoi ditched the woman and married another.
However, by that time the woman’s husband came to know about the entire incident and he too deserted her. After being dumped by both the persons, the woman is now left in a helpless state.
On December 12, 2019, the victim again lodged a complaint with Nayapalli police, but the accused evaded arrest since then. On Saturday, police arrested the accused jawan under relevant Sections of the IPC and forwarded him to court.
Ainthapali police station in Sambalpur SI Jugal Kishore Shah suspended on charges of negligence in an investigation of a murder case, sources added.
As per reports, Sambalpur SP suspended the SI on the charges of delay in filing of charge sheet in connection with a murder case.According to sources, a youth, identified as Sourav was arrested over the allegations of killing an elderly woman, identified as Nilima Das.
While the charge sheet was expected to be filed within 10 days, SI Sha deliberately delayed the same following which the accused youth easily obtained a bail.A complaint regarding the same was filed before the SP after which the top cop suspended Sha.
