BHUBANESWAR:  An orientation program was organised for the newly admitted students at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPS), faculty of pharmaceutical sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), where the freshers were briefed about the institute and the courses.

The newly admitted B.Pharm and M.Pharm students, their parents, dignitaries and faculty members were present.

Prof. Debajyoti Das, Additional Dean of SPS, who presided over the event, explained to the students about career opportunities in pharmacy while Prof. Pratap Kumar Sahu, Deputy Dean, urged them to develop respect for the profession for their career growth.

The major objective of the program was to make the parents and students aware of the academic aspects of the courses, the rules and regulations of the institute and involve parents in monitoring the performance and progress of the students.

Prof. Subrat Mallick, Head of Department of Pharmaceutics and Prof. Durga Madhab Kar, Head of Department of Pharmacology, also addressed the students. The program, which was conducted by Dr. Shakti Ketan Prusty, ended with Prof. Anindya Bose proposing the vote of thanks.
