CUTTACK:In a sustained effort to enhance road safety and ensure strict enforcement of traffic regulations, the Central Range Police, Cuttack, conducted an intensive road safety drive under Operation Jeevan Rakshya across multiple districts of the Central Range.
Road Safety Drive on 16.01.2026
On 16th January 2026, special checking was carried out in Puri, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khordha and Nayagarh districts.
•A total of 1,729 vehicles were checked during the drive.
•10 buses/commercial vehicles were specifically inspected.
•An aggregate fine of ₹8,83,000/- was collected for various traffic violations.
•The highest fine collection on the day was reported from Puri (₹2,92,500/-) followed by Khordha (₹2,55,500/-).
•No major suspicious or unlawful activity was reported during the checks.
Cumulative Performance (07.01.2026 to 16.01.2026)
From 7th January to 16th January 2026, Operation Jeevan Rakshya was carried out in a focused and systematic manner across the Central Range:
•12,645 vehicles were checked in total.
•34 buses/commercial vehicles and 60 heavy transport vehicles were inspected.
•A cumulative fine of ₹53,17,000/- was imposed for traffic violations.
•Significant enforcement was observed in Puri, Khordha and Nayagarh districts, reflecting strict vigilance against traffic rule violations.
Objective
Operation Jeevan Rakshya aims to reduce road accidents, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and create awareness among road users regarding safe driving practices. The Central Range Police reiterates its commitment to public safety and appeals to all citizens to follow traffic rules, wear protective gear, avoid overspeeding, and refrain from drunken driving.
Such enforcement drives will continue in the interest of saving lives and making roads safer for everyone.
